HOIST & MANLIFT ASME A90
ASME UPDATE ASME A90
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is dedicated to ensuring that mechanical engineers are current, safety conscious, and committed to improving international technical safety.
The committee has revised the Safety Standard for Belt Manlifts. The new Standard is the ASME A90.1 2009 (Revision of ASME A90.1 2003) Safety Standard for Belt Manlifts. Please make sure that all of your Belt Manlifts are in compliance with this standard as well as all State and/or local codes.
ASME A90.1 2009 applies to the manufacture, installation, maintenance, inspection, and the operation of manlifts. Manlifts covered by this scope consist of steps (platforms) and accompanying handholds mounted on/or attached to an endless belt operating vertically in one direction only and being supported by, and driven through pullup at the top and bottom. These manlifts are intended for the convergence of persons only.
SAFETY STICKERS
To promote the safe use of a Belt Manlift, Humphrey Manlift Co. has developed several caution stickers to be placed directly on the Belt Manlift as a reminder of important safety practices. These stickers are available free of charge to everyone who owns a Belt Manlift.
To request these stickers, please contact us toll free at 877-301-6510 or via e-mail at americanhoist@comcast.net.
